Hullegie and O’Reilly naar Irmato VC Weert
De selectie van Irmato VC Weert telt weer drie nieuwe namen voor het seizoen 2012/2013. Esther Hullegie, Samanta Jimenez en Lauren O’Reilly zijn het komende jaar te bewonder in sporthal aan de Bron in Weert.
Hullegie en Jimenez zijn geen onbekenden op de Nederlandse velden. De 19-jarige Hullegie speelde het afgelopen seizoen met SV Dynamo Apeldoorn in de DELA League en versterkt in Weert de passer-loperpositie. Haar leeftijdsgenoot Jimenez komt over van Sliedrecht Sport, waar ze het afgelopen seizoen de dubbel pakte als vaste libero. Haar positie wordt bij de kampioen komend seizoen ingevuld door Kirsten Knip, die overkomt van Alterno.
Grote onbekende bij Irmato VC Weert is O’Reilly. De 23-jarige spelverdeelster komt uit Canada en moet de gestopte Maaike Uijterschout doen vergeten. O’Reilly is sinds 2009 de eerste spelverdeelster van het nationale Canadese team. Plaatsing voor de Olympische Spelen is Canada misgelopen, maar O’Reilly komt nog wel met haar land in actie tijdens de Pan-American Cup in juli.
Eerder werd al bekend gemaakt dat Irmato VC Weert Anne Janssen en Lieke Clerkx van Peelpush heeft overgenomen. Judith Vroomen is net als Uijterschout gestopt met volleybal en Rachel Freemyer keert terug naar de Verenigde Staten.
Kirsten Knip tekent bij Sliedrecht Sport
De kersverse international Kirsten Knip zal komend seizoen de nieuwe libero zijn van Sliedrecht Sport. Dit betekent een weerzien met trainer Appie Krijnsen die zij kent vanuit de periode dat zij bij het HAN talententeam speelde. Afgelopen seizoen speelde de 19-jarige jeugdinternational (60 interlands) nog bij Alterno.
Onder leiding van het nieuwe trainersduo Krijnsen/Zietse zullen ook volgend jaar Inge Molendijk, Mariska Koster, Lynn Thijssen, Bianca Gommans, Esther van Berkel, Pamela Domselaar, Nienke de Waard en Celia Diemkoudre de blauwwitte kleuren verdedigen in de hoofdmacht van Sliedrecht Sport. Middenspeelster Brecht Gijsbertsen herstelt van een noodzakelijk heupoperatie en zij beslist in de nabije toekomst of het spelen van volleybal op het hoogste niveau mogelijk is. Florieke Eggermont, Samantha Jimenez en Shannon Gerhardt zullen niet meer uitkomen voor Sliedrecht Sport.
Pim Kamps vertrek bij Orion
Spelverdeler Pim Kamps vertrekt bij landskampioen Orion, zo meldt de digitale versie van De Gelderlander.
Kamps speelde vier jaar bij de ploeg uit Doetinchem en is na Adam White de tweede speler die vertrekt bij de club die nog steeds op zoek is naar een nieuwe hoofdsponsor. Kamps heeft nog geen andere club. ,,Ik moet ook aan mijn maatschappelijke carrière denken”, zegt hij in De Gelderlander. ,,In Nederland is het volleybal helemaal aan het instorten. Misschien stop ik, maar misschien ga ik nog door bij een andere club waar minder uren getraind wordt.”

Más de 500 votos llegaron a la casilla de mails de la Asociación de Clubes de la Liga Argentina de Voleibol, en donde los integrantes de la final se destacaron y poblaron el equipo ideal del torneo. Tanto los jugadores como el entrenador, participaron del partido definitivo: UPCN Voley – Boca Río Uruguay Seguros.
Precisamente el “Xeneize” aportó al armador, líbero, un punta y un central. Nicolás Uriarte (47,27%), Facundo Santucci (34,61%), Nicolás Bruno (22,98%) y Maximiliano Gauna (20,87%), respectivamente, fueron los cuatro xeneizes elegidos por la gente.
El resto del equipo lo aportó el campeón, UPCN Voley. Diego Bonini (48,27%), José Sousa “Junior” (36,26%), Bogdan Olteanu (47,12%) y Fabián Armoa (36.95%) fueron los más destacados para el elenco sanjuanino.
Según los votantes, los integrantes de la final se destacaron por sobre algunos de otros equipos que cayeron en instancias anteriores. Lo que más cerca estuvieron de aparecer en el equipo ideal fueron Demián González, Evandro Guerra y Sebastián Solé. El armador del equipo sanjuanino finalizó con 23,67% de los votos, el opuesto de Drean Bolívar terminó con 24,13% y el central de “Las Águilas”, 15,38%.

This year’s Player of the Year is Joren Zeeman (Cambridge, Ont.) of the Queen’s Gaels. The fifth-year senior finished the season tops in kills (226), points (256.5), and a points per game average of 4.50 which ranks him seventh in the country. Zeeman put up impressive numbers in the midst of a long season, having represented Canada at the FISU Summer Universiade Games this summer in China. He is the second Queen’s player to earn this award and has also been named a First-Team All-Star.

Erste Neuverpflichtung beim VfB Friedrichshafen: Der niederländische Nationalspieler Bas van Bemmelen kommt von den RWE Volleys Bottrop an den Bodensee und verstärkt den Deutschen Meister im Mittelblock. „Bas ist ein junger Bursche, der gut springt und die Voraussetzungen hat, um ein guter Spieler zu werden“, sagt VfB-Trainer Stelian Moculescu

Friedrichshafen (cku). Er ist jung, lang und talentiert – und passt damit genau ins Schema des VfB Friedrichshafen. Bas van Bemmelen heißt die erste Neuverpflichtung des VfB Friedrichshafen für die Saison 2011/2012. Der 2,06 Meter lange Mittelblocker wechselt vom Bundesligakonkurrenten RWE Volleys Bottrop zum Deutschen Meister und unterschrieb hier einen Vertrag für zwei Jahre.
„Er hat mir in der vergangenen Saison gut gefallen”, sagt VfB-Trainer Stelian Moculescu. „Bas ist ein junger Bursche, der gut springt und die Voraussetzungen hat, um ein guter Spieler zu werden.” Das will der 21-Jährige. Und genau deshalb kommt er nach Friedrichshafen. „Der VfB ist ein sehr professionell und international bekannt als ein wirklich guter Klub”, sagt er. „Ich denke, dass ich mich hier schneller entwickeln kann, wenn ich von guten Spielern, Trainern und Staff umgeben bin. Und was ich bisher gehört habe, ist der Verein da einer der Besten.”
Lernen, lernen, lernen – das steht für den jungen Niederländer in der kommenden Saison auf dem Programm. „Mein Ziel ist es, mich in jedem Bereich zu verbessern und der Mannschaft so gut wie möglich zu helfen”, sagt van Bemmelen. „Ich wünsche mir, dass wir uns in die Play-offs kämpfen, die Finalspiele in der Meisterschaft sowie im Pokal erreichen und diese dann natürlich auch gewinnen.”
Klar ist, dass van Bemmelen, der seine Freizeit am liebsten mit Freunden und seiner Familie verbringt oder aber Spiele auf der Xbox spielt, mit Freundin Christin nach Friedrichshafen kommt. Wann genau er sein neues Domizil am Bodensee bezieht, ist jedoch noch offen.
Derzeit nämlich ist der lange Volleyballer mit der niederländischen Auswahl in der European League gefordert. Und auch wenn es voraussichtlich nicht zum Einzug ins Final Four reichen wird – für den 65-fachen Junioren-Nationalspieler standen immerhin die ersten Einsätze für das Männer-Nationalteam zu Buche. „Ich träume davon”, sagt er, „eines Tages mit der Nationalmannschaft an den Olympischen Spielen teilzunehmen und ein international anerkannter Spieler zu werden”.
Van Bemmelen ist der dritte Mittelblocker und insgesamt achte Spieler im Aufgebot des VfB Friedrichshafen für die Saison 2011/2012. Zum Kader gehören außerdem Zuspieler Juraj Zatko, Diagonalspieler Oliver Venno, die Mittelblocker Joao José und Marcus Böhme, Außen-Annahme-Spieler Milos Vemic sowie die beiden Liberos Nikola Rosic und Thilo Späth.
